Nancy G. Brinker Recognized Among The 100 Most Influential People in Oncology in 2025

Nancy G. Brinker is the founder of Susan G. Komen, the organization that helped launch the global breast cancer movement, turning personal loss into a worldwide force for awareness, research, and hope. Through fundraisers like Race for the Cure, the world’s largest 5K run/walk series, and more than $3.6 billion investment, Susan G. Komen fueled research for new breast cancer treatments reducing mortality of the cancer and delivering lifesaving care to millions of women across more than 60 countries. Being one of the first to use pink ribbons as a sign of solidarity for women affected by breast cancer back in 1983, Susan G. Komen made it a universal symbol and further advocated for October to be recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Nance G. Brinker has served as U.S. Ambassador to Hungary and as Chief of Protocol, and has received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2009. She now leads the Promise Fund, focused on eliminating barriers to breast and cervical cancer care.
